6th Week - Starting week of ERS course

This course is mostly meant for higher nitec and polytechnic graduates. It is known as a tough course by some. Mainly is because of the heat that covered most parts of the training ground. The suit in particular is like sitting inside a high temperature sauna room. Too long and you may faint soon. Lucky i no faint as that day is drizzling day. But somehow, i suffered some heat exhaustion through many other training sessions. And somemore through last few days, my backbone near spine area feels ache whenever i sit up straight or turn my upper body half way around. It is not really ache until cannot move those type but is like slowing down ur turning movements. I have gone for x-ray as rubbing cream and applying medication plasters does not really relieve much pain. If worse, i may hav to drop this course and thus may not become a sergeant or rather a section commeander. If the medical officer sees it as not tat cause for concern, i will endure throughout the next 5.75 months. As for these few days, i may have to drink more water and rest often.

Carrying loads has become slightly more tough for me. Ok, hopefully i can continue else i can only say i have tried my best. So on weekends, if any of my friends interested to go exercise or go places that have fresh air, remember to ask me along as i find excercising by myself somewhat boring at times. Activities like badminton, table tennis if interested, can ask me along too. Next week, if i am still in the ERS course, then i have to go back by sunday morning to do an extra long guard duty from 0800 to monday 0630. Hmmm, i think it will be boring as the guard hours too long already. Sianz. Ok, i shall stop here. Later by 10pm gotta reach camp, so i still have some time to rest. Anything else, feel free to sms me anyday and i will reply at night. So see ya. More news next week...

Good is not good enough. Better is better.

5th Week ended. Tough 3 months ahead -.-

Alright,Plenty of rain in week 5. Therefore, training is made tougher at periods. I must have caught flu and then cough soon. And as weather is relatively cool, i dun feel like drinking more water besides water parades and kept cannot resist snacks from my bunk mates. Haiz... as a result, i got sore throat which after a few days till thursday, cause me difficulty to eat even half of my breakfast. I feel quite exhausted and therefore proceed to see the medical center to get medicine. Ok medicine made me a bit dizzy but still got to stay awake. wah... personal endurance training.

On friday, i am confirmed to go for the Emergency Rescue Specialist Course. I heard from many that it is a hell torturing course. Lots of trainings and pumpings to do. Still got theory lessons. But only after 3 months, then you can find more such theory lessons. So i wonder how can i endure such training. Heard from briefing on friday that all ERS trainees have to travel to brunei n receive something like up to 7 days training overseas there. Well, i hope i will not have to endure many pumpings earlier on. If not, i probably will get spine or back bone problem ba. Oh man, i barely manage to survive this past few weeks. How to get over the initial 3 tough months of total 6 months course? I know endurance and discipline are 2 notable factors. What else can better help me to better adjust to such tight packing schedule type of course? Friends, pls give me some wise advice either through my tagboard or sms to me.

Ok i hav my 2nd IPPT test earlier on wednesday. I passed most obstacles except pull ups and 2.4km run. For pull ups, i can manage 4 if i use the normal hand grip method. However, i dunno y i chose the reverse hand grip and only can manage 1. Heard that this can help make full use of strength though. Oh well, got to practice more often for pull ups ba. As for 2.4 km run, can u believe that i actually improved my timing but still failed by jus a matter of jus several seconds. -.- Sad isn't it? One thing good is that i run non stop. So now i reckon, if i sprint the last few hundred meters, i can actually pass the 12.20 secs mark. Anyway, coincidence is that i never pass any 2.4km on such circular tracks before. Ok, I have shown considerable improvements in my 2nd IPPT test though. So with more training, i should be able score more points though. A bit of a doubt for my pull ups though.

Coming next week, i should be a private and not a recruit already. If the course that i take pass, then i probably be a sergeant. Tats seem a bit strange of i can be a sergeant as many people dun think i can be a good sergeant. can i? Well, i guess i hav to give my best shot ba. If fail, then i hope to be a good medic. Of course, i would not fail tat easily without some fight. This coming book-in is therefore monday morning 715am instead of sunday night 830pm. So feel free to contact me regarding this next big tough course later morning or afternoon ba. Give me advices if u got any wise words to say =)

Bearing hope is a first step away from failure.

Endured a tiring 4th week

As expected, 4th week is tough. I got fitter though. But got more aches than expected. Joints aches, leg aches, back aches plus a little headache. Got sore throat as well some slight muscle aches. Wat a week it is. Serious footdrills, strength trainings, physical training lessons and cleaning stuffs to do. Skin now slightly more dark but still considered fair. Hope next week will not be tougher with more fit recruits who will be joining SCDF on tuesday most likely. Bunk mates are quite special. Got one recruit living on my bed's left side knows some simple chinese and likes jolin. lol. Quite a unique fellow. Lucky for me, all tat lives in the room with me are friendly. Before i go, hope france can be the 2006 world cup champions. =) Perfect last match for ageing Zidane. May my 5th week be with less strengnous stuffs to do. Tata. Can sms me as i will reply u mostly from 8pm+ - 10pm. 6th week will be a much different environment as i will be posted to my allocated successful unit. As for now, 1 mth down, 23mths to ORD. Enduring my best!!!

A regret is likely to be seen as a catylst to bad feelings.

3rd week of SCDF Passes...

Alright, doing light duties till thursday. Friday resumed excercises. Whole morning quite strenous for me as i hav been on light duty for quite some time. Despite me drink, eat n sleep quite ok, i still dun seem to gain weight as the recent NKF health screening is conducted before recruits are being released for bookout. As most of NKF screening conductors are female, some pretty ones drew quite some glare and got soft whistling sound somemore. -.- I think maybe is because 5 days in camp hardly see any ladies around then got such special response from them. haha. Anyway, now my toe seems to be in much better condition.

My NKF screening report only says that i need to gain 2 kg or more then can be fit. Hmmm, seems like my weight remains stuck on 50kg for quite some weeks already. Maybe excercises in the following week should help me a little bit. Else, how can i survive through daily training n marching? Now muscles are aching. Shall blog again soon hopefully. Anyway, hopefully can be on guard duty so that i can experience what a guard will probably encounter n react ba. Shall be able to see SCDF cat near foyer office ba.

When one side loses, the winner will face new challenges.
