Last day of 2006

Wow, after I am into my NS, I feel that time has pick up pace somehow and left me with almost no time to do some personal stuffs. Let me see, I have currently served close to 7 months of NS in civil defence. 1st month as basic training of strength and marching, other 6 months being selected to undergo 22nd emergency rescue specialist course. Recently just ended my training in civil defence academy, now having a 1 week vacation through the New Year 2007.

Before this last week, there is an annual gift exchange n I got a stylish keyboard wrist rest. Tot perhaps there could be additional surprises, but sadly is just games n mahjong. So for my last week of 2006, it is pretty dull but somehow peaceful. I did not have much to say for my bday this year as only my fav NS buddy treat me a KFC zinger meal. Hopefully, I have some sort of belated bday present soon? It will mean my 20th bday is quite boring without any much happenings. Oh well, anyway gotta thx several friends who hav wished me happy bday including some of my NS buddies. It is a peaceful week, thanks to no special kiwi/blanket party dished out to me. POP from my course on 28 dec, went home after settling those admin stuffs on 29 dec. Managed to restraint my tears when it comes to separation of the course buddies n Enciks on tat day too. Nothing much have happened since then, so I can say is a plain-sailing end to year 2006 for me.

What I can look forward to is to report to Payar Lebar Fire Station in ubi area on 8 jan 2007. Though 8 , 9, 10 jan may just be a learning tour in stations. It will be 8am-5.30pm training days for 3 consecutive days, but thereafter will be a month long of on job training. I reckons that i may need longer time to adapt to such station life as I am not tat versatile in handling operations. Hopefully there are less road traffic accidents, suicide cases and fire incidents during my stay in station for remaining 1 year 5 months ba. But somehow, got a feeling that I maybe transferred elsewhere as I dun have tat extra “Gung Ho” ability to lead operations properly. Oh well, may I defy all odds to remain in station peacefully ba. Its good as I can work 1 full day n then rest 2 days if I get to stay in station. Better salary oso but I gotta take various tests which I struggled to pass while in training course. Oh wat a start to year 2007 for me ya? Hmmm, btw, if any of my friends wanna play some sports during this week, can ask me along so tat I can motivate u all to exercise n hav fun at the same time. This vacation week, hopefully shall be an interesting one somehow.

Happy New Year 2007 to all! May u find ur goals to achieve in the new year. =)

New start is another fresh beginning. Take it as another chance to perform n excel.

*-*Christmas & POP mood^-^

Oh well, sorry for not updating for so long since last month due to tiredness from hectic training. Anyway, time is just too fast for me to catch a breathe and here comes possibly one of my favourite week of my life thus far. Yesterday is cheery Christmas Eve, today is Christmas Day, tomorrow is my 20th Bday, the day after is POP rehearsel day and POP day is on thursday. =x Nice week for me. =)However, i will only be released from camp on 29th dec but not sure is it 530pm or earlier. By now, i guessed tat my bday celebration is probably on 29th dec as it is unlikely to celebrate on christmas day as there is a friend's whose bday is on 29th dec. Last year, celebrated 2 bdays on my bday date. This year, celebrating 2 bdays on her bday date? That is probable though. I leave it to my poly friends to decide though. =)

So far, completed 4 SOCs and i improve my timing each time by a min or more. At last passed my SOC in 9min 05sec. Quite satisfied as i managed to pass somehow as passing mark is 9min 30sec. Added by my usual clumsyness with a few obstacles especially low ropes, i could not have asked for more. And i also completed 4 IPPTs. Managed to grab a silver somehow in my last IPPT as i can hav my silver badge for Pop ceremony. Could have get a gold if i train harder in standing broad jump n 2.4km run though. Nevertheless, i get 10min 06secs for 2.4km run. Improved my timing as usual but not as much i want. One thing made me glad though is that i get 9.9secs for my shuttle run which is better than 10.0secs that i got from 3rd IPPT. Never before, did i do better in shuttle run as i managed to surpass my personal expectation of around 10.3secs at best. Ok, still gotta master the standing broad jump technique which i am still struggling to improve so tat i can get gold in next IPPT after this course.
Looks like i gotta seek some friends help so that i can get gold possibly soon if i continue to improve. hmmm...

Ok, finished my field ex and final ex with okok results. I also now troubled if i get posted to tampines fire station somehow. If regards to admin and logistics, i possibly can offer lots to civil defence. But if is fire-fighting, chemical release, road traffic accident, I probably need to learn more from seniors as there are lots of commands and equipments varies for each incident!!!Oh, anyway, i will only know when i am posted to only before the day of POP. I can therefore foresee somehow i may have to struggle a bit more than others when i report for work on 8th Jan after my official 1 week break from 30 dec06 - 7 Jan07. I definitely won't want to report to tat camp near NTU as my transport costs escalates alot if i get posted as instructor. Hope God bless me somemore, to be away from tat farway camp n get into a less tiring job position. To be able to survive this 6 month course, some elements of human and nature have helped me alot. In the past, my pace of work is a clap slower. Now though, sometimes i can instant react, though i may somehow still slow by half a clap. Hmmm still way to improve though.

Lastly, i am sorry to miss my civil defence friends gathering on 23dec somehow as a few of them will fly for vacation soon. I hav thought of make up plan to calm them down somehow and hopefully i will not get any sort of blanket/kiwi party on 26th Dec 06. *~*~Prays hard that nothing bad will happen on my big day in camp*~*~ Gonna be a sergeant 2 days from then, hopefully nothing screws up. Anyway, saw michael from my poly course as he was posted from army to train for 9 months for an officer post in civil defence. Wish him good luck as it gonna be quite longer endurance than my 6 month course.

Anyway, me will be going to NUS for the whole of 26th Dec for some lessons there, so NUS friends, if u wanna c me in my all black book-out attire on tat day, u know it is possible somehow. Lol =x

Ok, getting some rest now. Nice time blogging here as i really hope this coming few weeks can be a good month n maybe paves the way for a better year 2007 for me. Friends of mine, i wish u all can enjoy better health and do things wisely.

POP is always good. But wat comes thereafter is always pressure for u to perform...
